About the School
The World Academy of Tirana (WAT) is a lively, friendly and welcoming school. We are proud to be the first authorised International Baccalaureate (IB) School in Albania since 2013. Consistent with our IB curriculum, we are a progressive school that works to develop the skills for the 21st century and prepare our students for an ever-changing world. About the Opportunity
The school is seeking to appoint a qualified, Integrated Humanities teacher to join our Individual & Societies team from August. You should be capable of teaching in MYP Grade 6–10 (students aged 11–15 years), hold relevant university or similar qualifications, and have a bachelor’s degree in teaching.

We are seeking a committed, dynamic, and passionate teacher who can plan and deliver outstanding lessons in Integrated Humanities. You should have a drive and passion for excellence, with motivation and belief to support a unique, inspiring, and outstanding place for learning.

The candidate must be a versatile team member and be able to meet a lively, competitive workplace's needs. You should be capable of exciting and challenging students to make rapid progress through delivery of high standards of teaching and learning. As our school is multicultural, you must have an interest in working in an international environment with different cultures.

Please find the attached job description and person specification for more information. Although we are looking for someone with IB teaching experience who has attended IB workshops, we will consider other applicants who can meet other core elements of the role.

Albania is a country rich in religions and respectful of the multi-plurality of its society and citizens. Tirana is its cosmopolitan capital city, known for its colourful architecture and beautiful landscape.

Located to the centre of the country, Tirana is enclosed by the breathtaking mountains and hills of Tirana county, yet only a 3-hour drive from Greece, Corfu, Southern Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro and Kosovo. The city has daily direct flights to most European cities, and offers a vibrant yet calm lifestyle, with shopping, cafes, restaurants and nightlife all found near to where teachers live. Concerts, opera, Italian and Russian art exhibits, and theatre provide a varied cultural backdrop to enjoy.

A 10-kilometre flagstone pathway for walking and biking leads around the city’s artificial lake, with a spewing fountain and surrounding forest area. Well-equipped playgrounds and parks can be found throughout the city.
